I would suggest before you change the pump, plastiguage the mains that can be reached (I think that possibly only the rear cannot be checked with just the pan off.) And plastiguage the rods ( I think all can be reached).. If the bearings are out of tolerance, you know where your problem is.. I would suggest that if you have to replace the rod and main bearings, also replace the cam bearings.. As far as the pump goes.. Was there much wear on the bottom plate of the pump?? if so, you can have the plate milled back to tolerace, which will give you more pressure, but probably not enough.. also check the gear lash in the pump..
