My Super A did the same thing several years ago. I drained, flushed and re-filled the transmission with new oil. The only problem is-you cannot let the tractor run in neutral with the clutch engaged, if you do, the transmission gears are not getting any oil. As long as the tractor is moving, the other gears will distribute enough oil. I have another gear, just haven't taken the initiative to tear it down. As much as you already intend to repair, I believe I would go ahead and fix it all at one time.
