Bob, The thing about cleaning a H gas tank is there is a baffle consisting of two metal ribs. One is attached to the bottom of the tank sticking up and the other is mounted on the top of the tank sticking down - they are about one inch apart and overlap one another. There will be just as much crud in the rear portion of the tank that you can't see as there is in the part you can through the fill hole. Small rocks (3/4 minus), a short section(s) of chain, etc will all help to knock the scale and rust free but you have to ensure you can get it all out of the entire tank. There are several products on the market to help you. Kreem and POR 15 are two of them. Auto Parts stores or Motorcycle shops sell kits. You'll need enough for about a 20 gallon tank. Radiator shops can also be helpful in steaming out the tank and then you can employ the sealer from a kit. Investigate all options and costs before hand and plan on taking the tank off of the tractor to do it right. Good luck.//FB
