Paul, Sounds to me that you have the symptoms of a bad coil. Does your tractor have a distributor and a coil? As a coil gets old, the spark gets weaker and usually will not produce a strong spark when it is hot. After the coil cools down, the tractor will usually start again, those are the typical symptoms. You should invest in a new coil from an auto-parts store, the cost should be less than $20.00 and your tractor should be running well again....I'm no expert...just my $.02 Jared Jeffries
