Farmall H - PTO problem

Just bought an H with loader and woods mower. After mowing with it several times, the PTO wouldn't run under load. I pulled out the PTO shaft. I'm not up on the terminology and I don't have a manual, but the two parts that engage near the steering column area both seem to be highly worn. I assume I have to replace both ends. What would I have to do to replace the front part? Is there a quick fix? It looked like someone may have done some welding on the shaft already, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.
