460 should i buy or not

I have a chance to by a 460 ser#5963SY for $500. Owner says he bought it as a demonstrator model. pretty rough missing side panels above engine, stuck engine. one piece of sheet metal rusted out. one bad rim. owner said TA worked when it was parked. tires are decent but flat. is it worth the $500 I'd like to restore it but if not can it be parted out and make some money with it. I just hate to see old iron just sit and rust away.
