I don't know about the amp light, sounds funny to me, I'll pay closer attention next time I run my friend's 756, But (I assume the tractor is gas) I can tell you it should die without the battery. It is battery ignition and needs to have the battery to complete the circut. Either that or I've done something wrong with my C and our cub cadet and my friend's 504 industrial...
