There is a quarterly magazine (Small Farm Journal?) that has a contact for getting a manual that covers several variations of these McCormick Deering seperators. I think it was $7 for the manual. I had one of these (maroon, hand crank to get it going and then electric motor to take over). I think it was a brass nut, but I had a couple different makes at the time so I'm not sure.

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
