super c fast hitch swings side to side

Is the fast hitch supposed to swing side to side about 4 or 5 inches or do I need to tighten something up? It is a real pain with the mower mounted especialy when I'M inching around a tree. I read posts in the archives about the bigger model fast hitch having a pin to stop it from swinging but I dont see anything like that on mine. any suggestions from the experts? Also I leave the arm on the right side connected to the rockshaft most of the time. Is that a bad thing to do? I can adjust it to give my finnish mower a little more room to float that way but I don't want to break anything.
