live hyd.pump gear won't swap onto new pump

I bought a new old stock pump from a guy who was a mechanic at IHC dealer well actually from his widow...I tried to take the drive gear off of my H flange /magneto drive so I could mount it onto the new pump ,and the gear won't swap onto it .. it is slightly to tight of a fit..by maybe .005"..It is not a M&W pump.because I have a M&W pump for my M and it says M&W on a tag on that pump ..but this new old stock one does not must be IHC ..It is a new pump,never used . did they make 2 different gears by chance?
