Ken - If the generator you've got DOES have an adjustable 3rd brush, moving it closer to the nearest fixed brush will increase current output. There's a screw on the back of the generator rear end plate that secures the 3rd brush holder. Loosen (but don't remove!) the screw a couple turns, move the brush toward it's neighbor, then retighten the screw. Position the brush so there's 3 commutator bars showing between the fixed and the movable brushes - manual says that's the maximum output position. Good luck!!
