FB's got it pretty well covered, Mark. A lot of times, too, the tooth on the lever is worn down where it catches the notchs on the quadrants. If just dressing up th notches and replacing the spring as FB suggests doesn't fix it entirely, you can also weld just a dab to build that tooth on the lever back up and grind it back down toa dull edge. Do both lever and notches and it ought to hold like new. Scotty
