Hello I reworked my 1941 H last year. Left the block on the trans housing . Put new sleeves and bearings and pistons on her right like that. Found the date of 1953 on the bearings , figured she had been done once before. I think I have an oil leak in the rear main seal. I changed it as well but must have mashed it somehow. I think I did have to move the block off the tranny to get to that seal. I think the seal; is housed in an aluminum casting. Good luck with yours
