Not uncommon. Automotive parts are the same way. I have found over the years to check around before buying almost anything. Occasionaly the quality will be better on the higher priced part, but often not enough difference to justify the price difference. Sometimes prices are driven by demand also. I know an individual who buys a certain part from a local dealer, lists the part on ebay and gets double or sometimes triple what anyone could go down to a dealer and buy it for. I guess they have no one to blame for paying too much, as they were willing to pay it.
