Steve,
You've got a Farmall AV, the high crop model of the Farmall A. The main differences are in the wheels and tires, which are considerably larger in diameter than the standard A. The front spindles are also quite a bit longer on the AV than the A.
Otherwise, it should be pretty much the same as a standard A.
A check of the serial number in the Research & Info section in the left column of this page should tell you what year it was manufactured.
