Farmall Ed, All have given good advice, first thing I would check after reading your post is what Dan mentioned. I just recenlty put our SC back together after a MAJOR rebuild including governor, linkeages, throttle plate anf handle, as well as the engine, couldn't get it to idle down unless I actually grabbed the linkeage from the carb to the governor cross over rod and forced it back. After alot of redoing to no avail. Dad noticed that even with the clip in place, the throttle to governor rud was routed under the right rear tank mount bolt, and was binding, freed it up, and WOW!!!! That governor works!!! I can be driving along in 4th at mid throttle, slap the lever forward, and almost knock myself off the seat backwards. First pull on Father's day(strictly stock)! Pete
