Just put a woods L306 on my A. It does just great, for weekly trimming I can use 3rd gear, if it gets ahead of me I use second gear to be sure to get a good clean cut, and I have mowed some grass that was 6-7 inches tall with great results using 1st gear. My engine is fresh with a rebuild, but is stock no oversize pistons or any of the other HP increasing mods.
