I have filled the pilot bushing with grease and then used a rod that fits in the bushing, hit the rod with a hammer. If you are lucky it will pop out.
I have used a bolt tap and threaded the pilot bearing, then install a bolt and use a slide hammer, or gear puller to pull it out.
