Well it's quite the job but I will try to give you a step by step. 1. Remove hood, front grill. 2. Drain radiator and remove it from tractor. 3. Jack up tractor and support it so the weight is off the front wheels, I used 4x4 blocks under the clutch housing to support it. 4.Remove the 2 bolts from axle pivot pin, remove pivot pin. Remove front axle and steering linkage from tractor. 5.Remove steering wheel. 6.Remove the big cap on the front of the steering gear box and turn the steering wheel shaft out through the hole and remove it. 7. Remove the 4 bolts holding on the front bolster and remove it from tractor, this baby is heavy use a jack, hoist, or help when you remove it so you don't drop it on your foot. 8. Turn front bolster upside down, remove bolt from steering arm and remove steering arm. If your steering arm has a square hole you have the old style like me. I understand that at sometime this was switched to a round sector shaft with a key. 9. Remove 4 bolts and split the lower and upper housings. 10. At this time if the sector shaft pulls out your e clip is missing, it should be securely held to the top bearing. 11, Remove 3 bolts from bearing retainer and remove sector shaft and bearing. 12. My bearing was stuck in the housing, if you get to this point you will see that it is impossible to get in there with anything to pull it with. I finally cut mine out with a Dremel tool and small cutting wheels. 13. Clean the assembly and all the parts, replace seals and bushings as needed, place bearing retainer over top of sector shaft, install bearing on shaft, then the e clip. Install the shaft and bearing into the upper housing and install the 3 bolts into the bearing retainer. 14. From this point on reassemble using the steps above in reverse order.
