You are very right in many cases, people did not like the Farmall 06, 56, 66 and 86 shifting especially for items like loader work. For me, the transmission was the best part, it was tough and Farmalls had enough torque TA was all the shifting you ever needed on big discs and cultivators or forage harvester. I will tell you one thing, these new CaseIH don't have it. Farming public opinion destroyed the best draft tractor we ever knew My experience with these tractors lies in farming with them and discussing with other owners good, bad and the different. Don't get me wrong 06, 56, 66 and 86 were all good tractors. Some of the things I have seen my 1066 do often amazed me. I was asked to put 1066 on a Rockland Rotoveyor one time for a demo of Rockland. Sales rep said we needed 200hp. There were none around. We had to put 24 of the 96 pound front end weights on 1066, duals on rear. 1066 sold the Rockland that day. My beef has always been 66 and 86 series tractors were not as fuel efficient and were less durable when it came to lnogevity. This was my experience and viewing forum discussion, I believe a lot of people had the same experience.

Still another is the alternator. No doubt using the original generator keeps the tractor pure, but for thos
