I agree with Andy. Besides, the knurling removes part of the guide, reducing its ability to transfer heat and load. A new cast iron guide or insert is the way to go here. Cast iron is porus (to an extent) and helps hold oil to lube the valve. On a bronze wall application, all you have is the oil on the surface of the guide and thats it.
