for what it's worth, I have been messing around with my grandfathers B and have been cleaning about 40+ years of dust/grease off of it. I also found orange paint, but have come to the conclusion that it is just faded reddue to the sun and grease. I came to this conclusion b/c I found more "reddish" paint on the bottom of the hood metal and I know that red paints tend to be really bad to fade. my .02 cents
