Mark, I have done many of the M's and H's, along with numerous other trucks and tractors over thirty some years. Knurling is a much preferred method in my estimation, as it leaves a slight pocket in the guide for the oil to lubricate the valve stem. What I'am saying is you do have to have the experience that only time and learning brings with. You can not take a badly worn guide and knurl it and make it like new. My experience was that taking them to the machine shop, and having some so called technician do it, and then find them installed at all different heights, plus not pressed in straight, consequently having a valve that no longer will seat squarely, and on top of that some of the new guides, yes new guides, were looser than the worn ones. Hard to find good mechanics these days that understand everything they think they know. Oops forgot now they are referred to as technicians. Wasn't that long ago on here I read where some one had his guides installed, and when trying to start it, it turned over hard and the tappet had pushed the valve down against the guide and bent the push rod. Quite the people they hire. Well good luck.

Still another is the alternator. No doubt using the original generator keeps the tractor pure, but for thos
