You are quite right, and I believe the problem here is more terminology used in various geographic locations. The point I was trying to make is, there are two LIVE PTO, being the Independant pto and the Constant Running or two stage clutch. With both these you can stop the foreward motion of tractor and shift gears, to me that is truly live power take off. LIVE SHAFT. There is also the system used by Massey Ferguson, two stage clutch. Shift lever one way and you have live pto, go to other position and you have ground drive pto. With ground drive pto shaft speed changes as you shift gears. Some guys like this one for their power trailers.
