My Super H came with an extension about 12-18", but attached below the muffler which just slid down on the pipe in the manifold. Also works well, but doesn't look as much like a hack job. He just removed it when parking in the shed(left loose, never clamped down). On my other tractors I have noticed an improvement by just removing the rain cap. Allways had those pivoting rain caps on top of the muffler, but realized they deflect the exhaust back at an angle instead of allowing it to go straight up. Just make sure you park under cover or allways carry an old soup can ;) Stan(VA).
