If you have a cab on tractor check bolt on pivot bolted to bottom left front of cab. The bolt going down through the top has broke on 986 before and makes you think the throw out brg. went through the pressure plate. You can take inspection plate off under tractor behind the motor and look up iside see if bearing or pressure plate is bad. You could have also broke the center out of the clutch plate.
