This tractor is one of my personal favorites. I recently found one in EXCELLENT condition with a wide front end, fast hitch, new paint, and is quite honestly the tightest tractor I have seen. Price depends upon your area of the country and as always the condition of the tractor. Please let me know what you decide. I have a manual for the SMD-TA and info on a power steering unit. I have never been able to ascertain the exact number of this particular tractor made. It was manufactured only in 1954 as were all SM-TA's. Let me know your area of the country and some of the particulars of the tractor (i.e. wide front, hydraulics, fast hitch) and perhaps I can be of further help. If for some reason you decide to pass on it or if you ever decide to sell let me know. I may even consider buying it from you on a "finder's fee basis" because my father and I have a soft spot for this particular tractor. Although these tractors are great for use in hayfields and general use, they are somewhat rare and just nice to have around. There are certain things you need to know about the operation so be sure to get an operators manual. You should be able to find this on-line. While I'm on the subject, always return the fuel lever to the diesel position so the valves can cool on their seats. I'll be more than happy to answer any further questions as best I can.
