Well like Curt I have a 806D and have only driven a 706 once. I can tell you that most all posts I have read pertaining to 706 is good to great. Curt is right on the HP info. Pretty much all the "06 series of tractors are excellent. They have a couple of points that people like to harp on but I suspect that most of the people harping do not own one of these machines. I have a few tractors and a few newer than my 806 but it is by far my favorite because it just runs and runs and runs and seldom gives any trouble. I would say 706 is a good. Hope you get it.
