I'll walk you through it.

Generator to voltage regulator.
Wire from gen. or arm. post to gen post on VR.
Wire from field post on gen. to field post on VR.

VR to light box.

Wire from bat. post on VR to negative post on ampmeter.

In light box.

Wire from negative post on ampmeter to coil switch, and then to the negative side of the coil.

Wire from positive side of ampmeter to hot side post on starter switch.

On the coil.

Wire from the pos. side of the coil post to the side post on the distributor.

We'll skip the lights for now unless you request it.
