How much is this going to cost???

I have an estimate to have a 45 Farmall H engine and head completely redone with all new parts and professionally cleaned for between $1500 and $2000. How much would I need to spend if I done this all myself? Keep in mind I will have the head done in an engine shop and the block cleaned as well. I am going to save any money or not?
