You ain't kidding about not being too fuel efficient for light work. I drove one for a guy for two summers, he had a contract mowing the sides of the county roads. I was using a 6' woods mower, I guess you'd call it a ditch bank, but it wasn't like the ones that you see midmounted, it was a 3 pt. hitch. Anyhow, pretty light work for it, but it drank fuel right good. Wasn't my fuel or tractor, but I just remember filling it up almost every morning, and the ones I didn't I was half worried I run out the next day. Great tractor though, hope to have one down the road here in a few years.
