Hi guys, my 1951 C wants to 'hunt' when I increase the throttle speed to fast - I then have to bring it back down to idle, then it smooths out and if I increase the throttle very gradually it remains steady. I checked all the linkages from throttle control lever all the way to the carb and everything is free. I noticed A LOT of freeplay in the arms that come out of the governor housing. I pulled the governor housing off. Looks like the spring is intact but the hole in the upper lever arm that the spring goes into is elongated. I don't really know what to do at this point - are parts available for me to rebuild this thing? is it OK to have all this slop in the governor? Has anyone rebuilt one of these? By the way, thanks for all the help so far. I am really starting to get into this tractor. I feel like a kid in a candy store!
