Carefully follow the manual on timing. Make sure the impulse coupling and advance springs are working good. It may just be carboned up a little. A water spray in the carburetor intake with the engine at a fast idle will break loose carbon but beware, occasionally a piece will get stuck under an exhaust valve and you will have to pull the head.
