A JD dealer said that I could probably pull a 10 footer but I think that is too big. I will actually be using the disk on unplowed land as a plow to prepare part of my ranch in SW Texas for some winter oats to graze. That part of the pasture was all plowed about ten years ago with a BIG disk and 150 HP tractor but mesquite brush has come back since. I'm thinking a disk would be better than a bottom plow since the ground has some rocks and mesquite brush roots. I'm guessing those would tear up a bottom plow. I really dont need to go too deep to plant oats with a broadcast spreader.
