Those suggestions I agree with, however there is one more, dirt. One of the biggest culperts in these old Farmalls if they have ever sat for awhile low in gas. Inside of tank gets scaley rust , and you start to use, movement of gas in tank washes the rust down. Kind a dammed if you do or don't item. Leave them full of gas and it gets stale, empty and it rusts.
