Bob...Have polarized and jumped GEN "F" to ground. Ammeter is new IH style and has never registered more than 4-5 amps ever! Checked it by switching it out with a spare. No change. Took both ammeters out of circuit and both peg the needle on 6 volt trickle charger. In fact the charger needle pegs everywhere except across top of field resistor to ground...shows 2 or 3 amps tops. Does this sound normal? (I've rigged a ground wire from field resistor to ground to eliminate possible paint problem.) Aside from the generator/cutout area, something in this circuit ain't conducting. Have a couple of extra light switches, but ordered this one in to avoid problems. Am I on the right track?? LC
