Farmall H - Rear Engine Oil Seal ...

I had my H parked on a downhill slope, facing up the hill for about a month or so. When I went and started it to move it, it started leaking oil (maybe 4 to 6 onces) out of the clutch bearing access port to the grease fitting. I was told by a parts supplier that my rear engine oil seal (felt) had gone bad, and that I had to break it (the tractor) in two to replace it. I don't think he's just trying to sell me the parts, we're only talking about $6 plus shipping ... But, what are the chances of this ? This is the first indication of a problem... Greg
