fel pro head gasket for super c

I got a fel pro gasket set for my super c and it didnt have any instructions in it. the head gasket is all metal on one side and the familiar blue striped material on the other side. on the blue side it says this way out but I need to know wich way is up! I would guess the metal side goes down but I hate guessing when it could involve more work and more money for another gasket. I tried to contact the company and got no response. has anyone ever used these gaskets or know wich way is up?
