With the number on cyl. "one closest to radiator" at top dead center on compression stroke. You should be able to take off you dist cap and the rotor should be lined up with the # 1 plug wire on the cap.If not you will not have fire at the plugs. Just fixed a B last night that had this. Also make sure your plug wires are in the correct order. No that sounds dumb but they are easy to plug in wrong. One way to find top dead center is to take out #1 spark plug and turn the motor over by hand with the fan or a crank "pull the coil wire so it wont start" and place your finger over the spark plug hole. When it's on compresion stroke you will feel and hear air gushing out of the The spark plug hole. Look in in the hole with a light while a friend or wife turns the motor. You can see the piston comeing up. When it is all the way up you are at top dead center. The Rotor should be pointing right at the #1 post in you dist cap. Not the most hi tech way but it works.
