I see some of the set-up's posted usuing bottle jacks as part of there stands or using the bottle jack on the floor to hold up the tractor.

Hydraulic jacks are save and most don't leak down. But they still can fail. And when they do "Fail" They come down faster than you can ever get out the way.

I still like using something that works with a screw or nut & thread. And all my stands bolt to the tractor frame or engine rails. Once I bolt them on to the frame,Theres no way to knoking then over or the tractor off them.

"Example" to hold up a tractors when we do a clutch job or a pull an engine. I built a screw leg that bolts to the side of the clutch bell housing using two of the 3/4" bolt holes. Our 756,826 or 1066's have this same bolt pattern on the side of clutch housing. Once the leg is bolted on and screwed up there's no way for it to fall down or knoking it over. Most of my stands also have heavy casters so if a large teardown has to be moved around the shop it can be moved.

After I built this leg for the first job. By simply drilling a few more holes I found it would fit other bolt paterns like our 684 and the old "H" and "M". Sorry I don't have any picture of my stands. One of these days I will get them posted.
