Drove chevies for years can't knock them ,but this new engine is becoming a nightmare in central Texas., a good friend I run with bought the max almost 44,000 pulling a 16 ft stock trailer gets 10 mpg. Since my last chevie I have owned 2 dodge cummins I now drive 01 with 6 speed get 20 empty and pulling 30ft grossing over 30,00 I get 12-13. If I bought another chevie it would be 6.0 or the bigger 8.0 From a guy that hauls a bunch good luck what ever you decide Bill
