If I remember your earlier post correctly, The newer German Diesels had a diferent thermostat housing than the older 706. I guess if worst comes to worst and you can't find your thermostat, mabey you should see if the new style housing will bolt on to your engine, at least that way CIH will be able to get you a thermostat if you ever need one again in the future.
