I would say a good tune up to start with since the 230 should be able to hang with an 8n easily from what I have seen. You could turn up your rpm but that won't help HP, get your carb and distributor set up. I would definatly check all things like spark plugs and everything to make sure it runs perfect before you go thinking that it needs more power. Remember you only have so much stopping power with that light tractor also.
