Tim ,I agree with the others, you can have a good shop repair the head but you want to avoid problems. A used head that is magnafluxed should be ok but you are looking at getting it planed as well or you will have trouble. A new head is a bolt on that guarantees the fix. I had a Jeep head that I got magnafluxed and there was a tiny crack at the exhaust valve...shop guy told me it would be OK and it was..just by luck but he also told me if it was for a customers car forget it..if it came back into the shop the customer would be upset and we would be out the labour of replacing it...so you are risking some labour and running around, if you want it fixed without worry go for the new one.. if you don't mind tinkering with the tractor a used one or a fix may get you running...good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
