Paint came off around gas cap. Ideas

I painted my tractor about a month ago. Everything went well. Today I went to use it and some gas came out around the gas cap and bubbled up the paint. I didn't use hardner is this my problem.I know the gas caused the problem but I usually use hardner in my paint but my IH dealer said I didn't need it anymore. Has any one else had this problem and if so what did they do to correct the problem.
