Steve,I have the same problem with my 1942 H.#4 bore is cracked about 5" on the backside towards the rear of the tractor,so I used JB weld also on the crack,let it dry,took a hone to it lightly then ran one of the old sleeves throught it pulled the old sleeve backout put in the new sleeve and it's been doing just fine. Goodluck I think it should work fine if you don't use it in a tractor pull or stress the motor too much.
