I think the Super M had about 22 % more power over the regular M. Disk brakes were an improvement, and I think the lift-all hydraulics? The real and more advanced changes started coming in 1954 with the Super MTA with the fast-hitch and torque amplifier especially. In 1955 came the 400 replacement with some new sheetmetal too. Lots of the tractors of that size back then got added on power steering too. I have a '53 SM and a 350 with it, and it is same looking set up. They really work great too!! They're all great tractors doing lots of work yet.......
