Dave,although I dont have a tremendous amount of experience with cubs I do know they are a nice all around tractor. I hope someone else who has tried spreading manure with one will write you back. I would think its a touch under powered for adequate spreading. What I do know is the cub in my opinion is in many cases being priced out of realism. In my neck of the woods people with no business even getting on a tractor will buy a cub. It's almost a case of keeping up with the Joneses. Its not uncommon to see them sell for 3500 all day long. I once had a neighbor who cut his half acre with a Cub and belly mower. He was proud and I'm still laughing. Strictly opinion, I would probably look for a nicely kept A or Super A. You have the same cultivision as the cub, more power if needed and a very handsome piece to boot. Hope this helped.
