Boys you can tune your exhaust system to scavenge and get the most power out of your machine. Put in a 3-4' piece of pipe and run the tractor under load. You will see the heat mark on the pipe where it appears to have gotten the hottest. That's where the scavenging is taking place and its there that you should cut the pipe. You will now have a tuned exhaust giving you maximum horse power. With tractors its easy..in autos Hedman, Hooker,and supply co.s such as these have done the tuning.
