SAMMY's right... Get the manual before You do anything.... But there's a lever on the left side of the instrument console that You move forward to go forward and pull back to reverse. The farther You move the lever the faster You go in that direction. The pedal on the left side IH called "The Foot-and-Inch Pedal" and operates similar to a clutch but actually operates a hyd. dump valve. Theres no need to use this pedal when moving the lever on the left. There's also a Hi-Lo speed lever on the right side of the instrument panel. I think You have to be stopped and use the F&I pedal to shift this. There should be a safety start interlock on the hydrostatic lever on the left that the lever has to be in the neutral or centered position for the engine to start. I think the F-&-I pedal also has to be depressed, and remember to set the brakes or park lock when ever You are off the tractor. Sounds like You just bought the tractor.... I would have the seller give You 5-10 minutes of instruction on proper operation and hunt up the operators manuals for You. Nothing like an 8000# 60 hp run-away farm tractor to make for a really bad day!

Still another is the alternator. No doubt using the original generator keeps the tractor pure, but for thos
